Three monkeys (in the wrong order)

Ever heard of the three wise monkeys? It’s an age old Japanese principle and stems from Confucius’s code of conduct.

In order, the three monkeys are:

  1. Mizaru — covering his eyes, who sees no evil
  2. Kikazaru — covering his ears, who hears no evil
  3. Iwazaru — covering his mouth, who speaks no evil

There are many meanings behind the three monkeys. In Buddhism, it symbolises to not dwell on evil thoughts. Evil thoughts could foster bad and negative mood. It makes an individual pessimistic and down. You may have encountered someone like this. Obsessed with negativity and always talking evil about someone. Stay far from them as they could poison you with the same venom. Do not allow yourself and people around you to spiral into negativity. The right thing to do is to turn the other page and move on. It also means to focus on an individuals positive traits rather than the negative ones. What makes an individual great? What makes that individual unique in a good way? What character trait does that individual have that makes them awesome? Give a compliment. Smile. It is also seen in many movies mainly to do with the mafia and cartel. It’s a code of silence. What is being seen, heard and spoken stays between people within the organisation. This is moreso a protective principle in order to keep the government and law enforcements oblivious as to what is happening.

It’s a code of conduct. Whether in personal life or business, look at someones strengths rather than weaknesses as we all suffer from weaknesses. Life’s funny. What goes around comes around. If you want what comes around to be positive, be positive. It’s simple in principle but not easy. Remember: Easy means something that’s achieved without effort. Simple means something that’s uncomplicated and easily understood. But it cannot be achieved without effort. See positivity. Hear positivity. Speak positivity. Embody positivity. You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain.
